Corruption can take many forms, such as civil servants demanding bribes, teachers seeking sexual favors for grades, public servants diverting state resources, companies evading taxes, and businesses influencing politicians for contracts. All of these actions harm development and society. A particular concern is the trivialization of corruption. This happens when legitimate acts or policies are wrongly labeled as corrupt for political or other purposes, diverting attention from real issues.
